Electrical Cost Pricing Guide

Switched Electric | Electrician & Car Charger Installation Cost Pricing

What does it cost?

Whether it is an emergency loss of power or a planned lighting upgrade, the question is usually the same; “How much is it going to cost?”

At Switched Electric we take the fear out of pricing, out of an unknown total. A lot of Monterey’s residents may not know that in California a contractor is actually not allowed to charge on a time and material basis, with the exception of emergency repairs. Even with emergency repairs, the total can not exceed $750.00 for the time and materials.

In California, contractors are expected to provide complete prices before a project can begin. At Switched Electric we pride ourselves on using an “Up-Front” pricing system, so our customers always know what to expect. No unpleasant surprises at the end of the job.

Our “Up-Front” pricing safeguards our customers. Once a price has been provided for a specific scope of work, we stick to that price. Even if the project takes a bit longer than expected, the price will not increase. With our system you always know the price before work begins. That means you don’t have to worry about how long the project will take, as we are obligated to work as efficiently as possible.

Now to get back to “How much will it cost?”.

Without exact project specifics it can be difficult to provide an exact price. Costs can vary widely for what often seems to be the same thing, and often discoveries are made in the construction process that can cause both changes in the scope of work being performed and in the cost of that work.

We have provided some price ranges for different types of common projects below though, to help give homeowners an idea of what to expect. All the prices are ranges, and most jobs fall somewhere in those ranges, some at the bottom of the spectrum, some at the top.

For an exact price, we suggest you contact us via text, phone, or email so we can start the estimation process for you.
